Margrit Biever Mondavi Theatre Built in 1879, the Margrit Biever Mondavi main stage theatre is the original historic performance space of the Napa Valley Opera House. Known in its heyday as “The Jewel of the Napa Valley,” the theatre has been lovingly restored to its original splendor by master craftsmen. An excellent example of Italianate Victorian style, the theatre is unusually intimate. The 500-seat house was designed for comfort and contains excellent sight lines and acoustics. No patron is more than 16 rows from the stage, thanks to the an ample orchestra section and ingeniously-designed balcony. In addition to its historic grandeur, the theatre boasts many modern amenities. Backstage areas house modern dressing rooms, state-of-the-art theatrical equipment and a splendid view of the Napa River Valley from the building’s luxurious Green Room.
